For the second year in a row, Felipe and I have made it to the YMCA's annual Turkey Trot in downtown Dallas. The Turkey Trot has been an Irons family tradition for as long as I can remember. The costumes have gotten quirkier but the announcer is still the same (Sic 'Em). Piper also made the trip with us and had a great time sniffing and making friends. But, she slightly underestimated how far 3 miles was!
When you tell people you are getting married, there are words of congratulations followed by well wishes and pieces of advice which center around the recommendation to be flexible because things couldn't possibly go as planned. They wish you well and end on a note of encouragement that hey, no matter what happens, it's still your wedding day!
Without embellishment, I tell you that our wedding was truly perfect. Our day was bright and sunny and everything arrived on time, in it's place. It was surreal having everyone who was near and dear to us from every corner of the world all gathered under one sky. We have known Carrie and Daniel at When It Clicks for a long time and, at the risk of overusing vocabulary, they captured our day perfectly. Our wedding was everything we could have asked for and more.
